The event took place at the Church of Scientology & Community Centre of Dublin. Presentations throughout the day showed how community assistance can range from direct support for people facing hardship to programmes promoting independence and inclusion.

Among the speakers was South Dublin Mayor Cllr. Francis Timmons, who presented the practical assistance provided through Clondalkin Helping Homeless.

Viktor Kozyrev, co-founder of VOLA Enable, focused on the organisation's work with people with disabilities and its emphasis on independence and participation.

The programme also included a presentation by Silvia Fani on the local and international work of Scientology Volunteer Ministers.

Scientology founder L. Ron Hubbard established the Volunteer Ministers programme in the 1970s, developing an approach based on practical action and personal assistance. Its motto is “Something Can Be Done About news eureka springs arkansas It.”

An interactive session later allowed participants to become familiar with several methods used within the Volunteer Ministers programme.
